Finely sculpted hollow carved preening Mallard carving showing off the Wards talented variety with both a laid out wing, a lifted wing, and a preening back head.  Including a dramatic tail curl.  Fine paint with detailed feathering across the body and wings.  Carved primary wings with some carved detail in the speculums and fluted tail feathers.


Signed and dated on the underside by Lem Ward, with the makers metal plate.


Condition: Original with areas of paint tightness mostly on the raised wings.  Slight age separation on the left hand side with puppy chew to the raised wing tip and minimal paint flaking to other wing tips.
