Sleek Black-bellied Plover shorebird from Nantucket, MA circa 1900.  Thin body narrowing to a thinner neck supporting a classic 'beetle' head.   Elegant lines with an appealing original dry surface.  Two stick holes similar to the Morton Rig shorebirds.  These are angled different allowing the gunner to position the shorebird upright or in a running / feeding position.

Condition:  Shot scars mostly on one side with some tail roughness.  Possibly an early in use bill.
