Common Eider Drake

Unknown, Maine c. 1900-1920

17"

Fascinating Eider likely from between the areas of northern Casco Bay and southern Muscongus Bay.  Likely coming from a personal rig of no more than 8-10 decoys.  Highly rare find in thin entirely original paint and entirely ALL of it's original rigging.  We have only discovered one other of these decoys, having belonged in the Hillman Collection, carrying the same iconic horse shoe weight, mosterous leather lead, paint style, and most of all a raised yellow bill crest.

Condition: Original with moderate gunning wear
