Miniature Green-wing Teal Hen
A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952)
East Harwich, MA, c. 1908-10
3 in. long
Amongst the earliest Crowell miniatures known and from the collection of Nina Fletcher & Betram Little with spectacular provenance. These handful of incredibly well preserved miniatures make up some of the best early examples obtainable by Elmer. This tiny miniature displays bright paint and nice feathering, perched atop a formed rock style base. Underside bears a crisp strike of his early ink stamp as well as a later added species name Jelly Label, likely added by the Littles
