Mallard Drake by the Ward Brothers, Crisfield, MD circa late 1930’s sold by VL&A (Von Lengerke & Antoinne), the prominent sporting store in Chicago, IL during that time period.  The decoy still retains most of the black ink VL&A stamp.

Beautiful, low profile, broad form coming to a pinched breast.  Slightly raised, turned and angled head with glass eyes and thumbnail bill detail.  Excellent paint style.

Condition: Entirely original less a few spots of neck flake touch up by Russ Allen. Paint flaking on sides due to sap bleed. Some putty has flaked away at the top head dowel covering.
